News & the IMA Hero™ Collection
As the First
Anniversary of September 11, 2001, approaches,
the Dallas News and Newspaper in Education (NIE)
discuss "Heroes" in the Daily
Online Lesson.
The objective
is to identify qualities and deeds that make a
person heroic and discover that many people we
know can be considered heroes. The Daily Online
Lesson provides six activities for Grades K-3
and six activities for Grades 4-8. These activities
include listing traits which the students consider
to be those of a hero and writing a short essay
about an unsung hero they know.
